Goaltender Roberto Luongo hasn't had the smoothest of summers as he tries to get over another second-round playoff meltdown against Chicago and move on from his worst statistical season since his rookie year.

Not that Luongo had to answer for any of it during the offseason—he escaped silently to Florida and out of the media glare in Vancouver—but in the four months since the season ended, both his captaincy and his 12-year, $64 million contract extension were called into question; his longtime goalie coach, whom he thought was part of that lifetime contract, was replaced without consultation; and the defense core in front of him was seriously altered.
