Tim Thomas returned to the ice with the Boston Bruins this week, taking shots during workouts, The Boston Globe reports. Thomas is coming off hip surgery and is expected to compete with Tuukka Rask for time in goal this season. Other Bruins coming off injury also are back at work. They include defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and winger Milan Lucic. Also seen at Ristuccia Arena, the Bruins? practice facility, was winger Marco Sturm. Tuesday's workout was the first time Thomas has been on the ice since his surgery.
