NCAA talks with 2 Clemson football players (AP)

Clemson athletic director Terry Don Phillips said Friday that the NCAA had been on the Tigers' campus this week to talk with two members of the football team. Phillips issued a statement Friday about the visit, but did not say what the inquiry was about. Phillips also did not identify the athletes, but said Clemson is cooperating fully.

Mason Cloy has chosen to follow a path that he knows will define him more than anything he does on Clemson's football field. Cloy spent a month this offseason at Fort Knox, Ky., in accelerated U.S. Army leadership training. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound junior will become a military officer upon graduation, no matter whether the NFL takes an interest in him.

Kyle Parker's view on his Clemson football future wasn't that different from many worried Tiger fans. "I pretty much thought I was gone," Parker said Tuesday. Instead, the Colorado Rockies' top draft pick was back on campus reconnecting with football teammates he hadn't worked with since the spring.

Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker made his decision -- and this one had a happy ending for Tiger fans. Parker, the first Division I athlete to throw 20 touchdowns and hit 20 home runs in the same year, announced Wednesday morning that he will return to Clemson for his sophomore football season instead of immediately embarking on a baseball career with the Colorado Rockies.
