Braves RHP Medlen hit on forearm (AP)

Atlanta Braves right-hander Kris Medlen was hit on the inside of his right forearm in the sixth inning and later left the game against Cincinnati for treatment. Medlen was hit by a pitch from Johnny Cueto, loading the bases. Medlen was seen by a trainer, then went to first base. He slid hard into second on a forceout, then left the game.

The Atlanta Braves have traded minor league outfielder Mitch Jones to the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash. The 32-year-old outfielder is batting .250 for Triple-A Gwinnett with 18 homers and 45 RBIs in 89 games. He will go to Pittsburgh's Triple-A team in Indianapolis. Jones has played eight games in the majors, getting promoted by the Dodgers last June.

Prado was the logical postgame star, since he had a 3-for-5 night and scored twice./p pOne might think Prado would have been happy, but no. He is a natural worrier, so it doesn't matter to him that his .319 average through that game ranked second in the National League. Or that he was leading the league with 137 hits. Or that he led the majors with 44 multi-hit games./p pHe doesn't think about that. What he thinks about is that he is the Braves' leadoff hitter, a position he never asked for and doesn't think he's good at. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to take as many pitches as possible, knowing that it's part of the role to let his teammates see...
